According to the FBI as of yesterday September 26, 2017 A federal investigation has been launched and indictments have been handed down. The investigation pertains to the allegations of college basketball exposed bribery schemes in which coaches from some of the best basketball programs in the country took cash from Adidas. Not only did they take cash but athletes and their families were offered cash up to $150,000 as well.
Some of the biggest names in college sports like Adidas, Arizona Wildcats, University of Southern California, Louisville, Oklahoma State Cowboys, and Auburn Tigers were caught up in a sting, which started in 2015 with the help of a crooked financial adviser who was put in a position where he either did time or wore a wire for the feds. Guess which one he chose?
We also spoke to our source on the inside and here is what we can tell you. Coaches from some of the best programs took cash bribes, managers and advisers circling blue-chip prospects (best high school players in the country) and employees of a global sportswear company (Adidas) funneling cash to families of high school recruits, our source tells us. High school players were being bribed to attend and play basketball for an Adidas sponsored college. They were told more money would be given to them when they leave and turn pro and sign with Adidas.
Rick Pitino the (now former) coach of national power house Louisville is at the top of the list. In fact he was fired just today. Pitino has since lawyered up due to his contract which states he needs a 10 day notice before any such termination. Wait what??? He needs 10 days to prepare for getting fired? That’s ridiculous I must say. That’s like a backwards 2 weeks notice!!! Ok sorry let’s get back to the story.
We were told the investigation is ongoing, which means more information will be revealed. We do know search warrants were executed at the offices of ASM Sports, which represent a few dozen active NBA players but no charges have been filed as of yet.
There are several complaints, several incriminating statements made to undercover agents. So I would imagine there will be more indictments and arrest made. As the story breaks we will keep you apprised. As always thanks for following and stay tuned for more information…
